Fundamentally reality is made of energy and information that conforms to specific rule sets. The tighter the rule set of the reality, the more consistent the experiences will be of the conscious energies within it. Reality itself is not just the world external to ourselves, the things within it and the rules that we operate within in the physical world. Reality includes that which we imagine and think about. Your "mental landscape" should be thought of as an actual place within your consciousness. It can be used to interact with and sense subtle energies and information that is not normally available to the waking mind. The liminal space between sleep and wakefulness, where dreams dance and intuition whispers, holds immense potential for unlocking extrasensory perception (ESP).
This "dreaming awareness state," is a gateway to altered consciousness often referred to as hypnagogic or hypnopompic states and are realms where the boundaries between the physical and non-physical blur. How to enter this state consciously?
Preparation:
Set the Stage: Dim the lights, and minimize distractions ensuring you won't be disturbed.
Sleep Hygiene: Prioritize good sleep hygiene in the days leading up to your exploration. Aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep, avoid caffeine and alcohol before bed, and establish a regular sleep schedule.
Intention Setting: Before entering the hypnagogic state, set an intention for your ESP exploration. Do you seek guidance, insights, or connection with a specific person or place? A clear intention will focus your awareness and enhance your experience.
Dropping Into An Altered State:
Lie down, or sit with your eyes closed. Allow your body to relax, starting from your toes and moving upwards. Focus on your breath, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly and completely.
Sensory Awareness: Pay attention to the subtle sensations in your body. Notice the coolness of the air on your skin, or the gentle hum of your breath. This heightened sensory awareness is a gateway to the hypnagogic state.
The Hypnagogic Dance: As you relax, you might experience hypnagogic imagery – fleeting flashes of color, shapes, or even scenes. Observe these images without judgment, allowing them to flow and morph without trying to control them.
The Inner Voice:
In the stillness, you might hear whispers, intuitions, or even full-fledged conversations. These could be messages from your subconscious or glimpses into the ESP realm. Listen attentively without getting caught up in the content. Over time you will get better and better at recognizing and controlling your conscious state. When you are ready try consciously reaching out to sense subtle energies and information, while maintaining conscious awareness. Most individuals when awake have Beta brain wave patterns, which influences the quality of their conscious state. When we change this by lowering our conscious state (but importantly remaining awake), our brain waves also adapt, allowing for higher reasoning at lower brain wave frequencies. This is sometimes important when determining the quality of the energy sensed. This will serve as the foundation for further development.
